With inspiration of pretty garden teas with pastel blue hues and shimmers of mirroring the incredible vendors put together something from a dream. The colour scheme set the affair in soft blues, white, mirrors, glass and silver. Guests were treated to exquisite cupcakes and a feast for the eyes with divine styling and florals. -- For this divine Bridal High Tea we paired two of our most favourite pieces together! With stunning Goddess worthy Hair and Makeup by Velbella. Nina of Nina Angela Photography and Flowers not only photographed the shoot, she also styled the floral arrangements! The shoot, inspired by sparkle and glamour with florals reminiscent of garden teas evoked a palette of palette of white, soft blue, glass, silver, and mirrors. Nina used vintage silver teapots as vases, noting, “I chose the softest blue hydrangeas with white Roses and lisianthus along with delicate trails of Ivy to finish the look.” Paired with the incredible styling of Moments In Vintage creating the perfect high tea with plenty of sparkling details fit for a beautiful bridal shower. The guests were sent the perfect Powder Blue invitation from the ‘Edwina’ range by Invite with Style who also created the divine Menu and Placecards with calligraphy by Ally Dunlop. Two varieties of cupcakes, firstly, white chocolate, lemon and poppy seed cupcakes were covered in white fondant and airbrushed with a white lustre dust. They were then topped with an edible crystal jewel to compliment the aptly named “Begitta” cake. Secondly, melt-in-the-mouth rich vegan chocolate cupcakes were donned with a luscious swirl of vegan chocolate coconut ganache. QUEENSLAND BRIDES MAGAZINE On a gorgeous, sunny May Day up in the picturesque rolling hills of Samford, at Topiaries – Beaumont House, is where the stunning garden wedding took place. I absolutely loved working with lovely Alicia on bringing to life her one-of-a-kind gown. Alicia came to me hoping to combine her favourite elements of the gowns she had tried on, whilst I sketched Alicia described her dream gown. Choosing a subtle sweetheart neckline bodice with illusion straps which gave us the perfect canvas for the stunning hand detailing including light beading and intricate hand-applique created with the loveliest French corded lace. Falling from the natural waist we created a skirt of heavy falling tulle that cascaded into a modest train to create the perfect silhouette. Alicia wanted her gown in off-white and Ivory with tiny seed pearl detailing. Throughout the process Alicia was an absolute dream to work with, such a beautiful person inside and out and the stunning images speak for themselves, she looked absolutely divine! Congratulations to both Dan and Alicia on your marriage and such a stunning wedding! Thank you for having me part of your special day! PHOTOGRAPHY: Urban Avenue Photography
Marina Mirage on the Gold Coast is now home to Begitta Bridal and Couture's first ever pop-up store!
September 18 was the Grand Opening Soiree, a fabulous evening to welcome guests and clients to come in and see, touch and feel the magic. At 6:45pm, a much awaited reveal of the store windows took place to the delight of guests waiting outside the boutique. The ripping off of brown paper revealed a window of flowers hanging from the ceiling, surrounding the beautiful "Odette" Gown seen at the recent Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival. In the other window stood some more lifelike models, Emma, Jasmin and Cat wearing pieces from the new "The Dreamery" collection, with beautiful hair and makeup done by Kylie's Professional. The soundtrack of the night was the sound of beautiful violinists, Yeaji and Grace, playing exquisite music well into the evening. Cupcakes were the taste on everyone's lips as guests indulged on white chocolate mudcake and vegan chocolate cupcakes, courtesy of Cake Ninja. Guests sipped beautiful champagne and sparkling waters as they perused the latest collection, as well as popular gowns from previous years. The room was complemented by the aroma of fresh flowers, put together beautifully for the press wall by Flowers by Julia Rose. The night was a smashing success and an excellent start to the 5 months Begitta Boutique will spend at Marina Mirage! Thank you to Vogue Images for capturing the night! Brisbane Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival-goers were treated to a beautiful ballet-inspired gown collection at the Emerging Designers show last month! Begitta opened the show with her gorgeous embellished tutu's, lace details, ruffles, feathers and sparkling sequins. Combining both the gracefulness and purity of doves and the elegance of prima-ballerinas, Begitta showcased her gorgeous Spring/Summer 2015 collection to a wide-eyed audience. Not to mention the gowns were complemented with stunning jewels from Redki Jewellery. "The Dreamery" is Begitta's third appearance at Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival and was the talk of the evening! MBFF MEDIA BUZZ! Begitta Featured at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival in Brisbane on August 26th at the exquisite Brisbane City Hall, debuting the soft, romantic Collection "The Dreamery" in the Emerging Designers Show to some absolutely wonderful love and attention from fans and media. "Angelic bridal dresses by Begitta, complete with wings, make anyone want to get married. Sweet, sheer, and full of ruffles, Begitta creates enchantment as enchanting as the moment you say, “I do.”"
-IFBKOREA.COM "Kickstarting off with Begitta, the show was immediately plunged into a spectacle the likes of which hadn’t been yet seen on the runway. Think ballerina inspired with hoop skirts, poofy angel wings, tulle trains, VS inspired wings and incredible craftsmanship. Personally my favourite show of the evening, Begitta is definitely a brand to look out for in the future." - Mustache Magazine STANDOUT -GC MAG "From the opening with a jewelery-box ballerina come to life, you got the message that this budding bridal designer has a super girlie take on the subject. With layers of frothy tulle and sheer embroidered panels covering most of her work, it’s not for the understated bride but it showed she has a developing sense of handwriting and it was well executed." -Kellie Alderman "One of the more glamorous designers on display was Begitta with her dramatic silhouettes and whimsical flowing designs. Obviously a very skilled couturier, the made to measure bespoke pieces combine current trends and are infused with whimsical delight. Her designs combine romance and enchantment with a touch of fairytale – feminine, fun and flirty! " -Woman.com.au There are varied views on being an intern. Some say "free labour, gross," others jump at the chance to take the first or second step into their chosen career path, regardless of pay. I can safely say that I am the latter, and it's not at all hard when you're working for the sweetest Bridal and Couture designer you could fathom.
Myself and one other "Begitta's Angels", Molly, were brought on board to help sew, stitch, and keep Begitta sane in the lead up to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Before we knew it, fittings with models had come and gone and it was time for the big show. Tuesday 8am: All systems go at the studio, Begitta is still putting together some gowns after last minute epiphanies and changes, and everyone within the close vicinity are roped into lending a hand, including Begitta's housemates. I get given the task of stitching on some hand-dyed lace applique to the finale gown bodice. Shouldn't take too long, right? 9am: Still stitching. 10am: Still stitching. In other news, Cinderella is now on the screen to keep me company. 10:30am: This bodice is now complete and ready to go! Everyone is now onto their second or third cup of coffee to keep the momentum going. 11am: Another bodice is ready to have beads and lace stitched on, at this point if I'm ever in a life or death situation and need to stitch on some applique, it's probably safe to say I'll be fine. The Disney movie of choice has now been changed to Aladdin. 12pm: Tension is rising as it still feels like the To Do list is too long and I have to deliver the dresses from the Gold Coast to Brisbane by 3:30pm. Some of the 8 gowns are fully prepped and going into their garment bags, ready for the road trip. 1:30pm: Kylie's Professional makeup service arrives at HQ to get Begitta looking fabulous for tonight. You can probably guess that I'm still stitching. But it gets done, it looks fab (to say so myself) and the steaming and/or pressing of skirts begins. Which is just as much fun as it sounds. 3:00pm: By this point I have no clue where all the time went, and it's time to play Tetris with my baby little Nissan Micra. To put it in perspective, we have 8 relatively poofy garment bag - containing delicate garments, 9 shoeboxes, a bag of very expensive jewellery, 4 headpieces, 4 hoop-skirts, and two storage boxes of extra stuff to basically fit into a match box. 3:15pm: Nailed it. 4:15pm: Was blessed with minimal traffic and even though I was late getting to City Hall, Molly is waiting on the side of the road to help me unload. Unfortunately it's now peak hour and poor little me is getting honked by angry commuters. We unload and I drive off to park my car safely out of the way before coming back to setup for tonight's show. 8:30pm: Models are dressed, everything fits, jewellery is sparkling, many many many photos are being taken and it's time to strut the stuff. Thank the Fashion Festival Gods that everything goes to plan and everything looks stunning - no surprise there. 10:00pm Everything is packed away and we are all walking the fine line between "hell yes, let's pop some champagne and celebrate!" and "where's the closest comfortable bit of floor, and can I sleep there?" Piece of cake. - Written from the perspective of Ally The Dreamery Collection is set to take the stage at the fabulous Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival 2014 on August 26th! We are thrilled to release a sneak peek of the inspiration for the collection!

But the absolute show stopper, couture designer Begitta showed pieces that were part wearable art, part masterful dressmaking and altogether spectacular. Sequins, ruffles, jewels and bright colours abound in this sweet-as-candy collection. "Molly &Polly created plenty of wow with their swimwear featuring bright neon colours and vibrant pineapple and reef prints. While Begitta took the sold-out audience to a magical land with her gypsy-inspired couture collection." “Brisbane has an outstanding selection of emerging designers who showcased their collections on Day 2 of the festival and the absolute standout for me was the show-stopping designs from Begitta, with her collection Golden Empire. Finally, the most inspiring work I saw came from the very talented designer Begitta Stolk under the label 'Begitta' who wowed the audience and critics alike with her fine detail, hand-embellishments, millinery and specialised couture. After having finalised her studies in Paris on specialised Haute Couture Techniques and working with prestige car company Peugeot on made to measure pieces, this is a woman who has no boundaries. Inspired by a free spirited Gypsy Princess of a forgotten time. Immerse yourself in the ornate details of hand woven tapestries, resplendent decor and dazzling adornment, intense jewel tones, heavy gold details and spindly ornate crowns.
