EDITORIAL // The Last Summer Berry - Styled Wedding
Styled Wedding Shoot Featuring Begitta - Bridal and Couture FLEUR gown.
This absolutely stunning venue provided the backdrop for an insanely cool and modern chic wedding. With bright flashes of red and subtle nods of deep hues in blacks and purples.
As the sun sets over the hinterlands of the Southern Gold Coast the light sparkles through the leaves. The perfect backdrop for this incredible shoot of berry hues and lush greenery.
Amongst the rainforest-esqe seeing the incredible floral semi-circle created by Xavier Nicolle Flowers.
"The final days of summer were drawing in, the berries ripe, and the leaves were clinging to the branches. It was coming closer to the time where we all switch our margarita to a full bodied red!
We made the most of the last sunshine - seating guests among the trees to feast on earthen plates hand-fired by the local potter, gold cutlery, and luscious raspberry-red blooms. The bride's caped gown seem to speak to the breeze, and flowed so loosely behind her -untamed. Her make-up rich and opulent.
The naked tipi, found foliage ceremony circle, and hand-painted watercolour stationery belonged to this wilderness, and it was still so unexplored.
Those involved with this creation perfectly harmonised together to create the ultimate embodiment of an earthy, enchanted, mature summer day which seemed to teeter precariously on the edge of Autumn."

There is something about copper that catches your eye in a way that gold and silver can't quite do. It's a modern metal that gives off a chic vibe, but can still be styled to look elegant and romantic.
Paired with rich Autumn hues, a touch of industrial flair, and delicate, feminine details, this whimsical display coordinated through The Wedding Playbook created a scene fit for a contemporary and beautiful wedding.
For this Modern Copper scene shot by the amazing husband and wife duo at Raconteur Photography, our model Karli was styled in three arrangements using (insert the shoot's pieces here).
Her lovely hair and makeup was done by Velbella, with styling done by Gemma at Inspired by Love Events! Karli also adorns some sparkling accents through her earrings and ring, thanks to Starfire Diamond Jewelry. The result was a modern but dreamy bride, mixing traditional and contemporary pieces beautifully.
Kylie at Creo Design Invitations starts us off by making dazzling marble-inspired stationary, which matched the marble chargers, cutlery, glassware & plateware done by Brandition. They made an already charming dining table into an enchanting dinner setting sure to render guests speechless!
The flower arrangements created by New England Flower Co. were essential in pulling together all of the different elements. The rich hues contrasted beautifully with the marble, concrete, and copper and added pops of romantic color to the scene. Not to mention, they also made the gorgeous white gowns the star of the show!
Berry Vintage provided plenty of vintage flair for some balance through the peacock chair fit for a queen, and the exquisite rug laying beneath it.
With so much style and harmony in this gorgeous display, this bride is ready to enchant her guests and show everyone a magical wedding.

Queensland Based Designer Represents Australia Aboard Luxury Cruise Ship in Sydney Harbour.
Begitta Stolk, Fashion Designer and Director of the illustrious label Begitta, was incredibly excited about hopping aboard the magnificent Italian cruise ship, The Costa Luminosa with her brand new collection. One of our very own Queensland based emerging designers was selected to represent Australia with her new collection The Forgotten Garden for the world renowned J Spring Fashion Show. A fashion show like no other, featuring designers from all over the world and set in Sydney’s picturesque harbour which took place on 14th March 2016.
This year, under the creative direction of Jessica Minh Anh, The Forgotten Garden was showcased alongside international designers at what has been described as one of the world’s most iconic catwalks. The prestigious J Spring Fashion Show is well known for its daring locations and merging of art and fashion. Previous shows have been held on the Eiffel Tower, One World Trade Center and London’s Tower Bridge, just to name a few!
In front of Australia’s elite in fashion and media, the incredible catwalk was staged on the Costa Luminosa’s grand upper deck overlooking the breathtaking, iconic backdrop of the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The glorious Sydney sun beamed down on the exquisite models showcasing six international designers with Begitta opening the show to present her awe inspiring new collection.
The Forgotten Garden transported the audience to the garden beyond the hidden gate. A place forgotten through time that has seen little of the world but instead has created its own from within, made even more show stopping by the picturesque grand scale of this world class fashion show, catapulting this emerging designer to international fame.
Inspired by Begitta’s travels to Monet’s Garden in Giverny just outside of Paris. The Forgotten Garden takes the sculpture of flowers and their texture and emulates the rhythm and flow of an exquisite lush garden. Each piece of the collection is unique to Begitta’s story and yet tied together by signature hand-detailing and fabrics in tulle, silks, prints and beautiful French laces. With a colour story ranging from white to creams through blush, pinks and purples and divine floral prints. Featuring hand-draping, lace applique, subtle sparkles and adornments of handmade flowers. The collection is a high note on the breeze and a nod to Begitta’s love of otherworldly places and fairytale romances.
Begitta has gone from strength to strength throughout her short career. She has presented her new and most elaborate collection to date which inspired, captured and wowed at the J Spring Fashion Show 2016. The Forgotten Garden was a true highlight against the beautiful Australian landscape and architecture unique to the J Spring Fashion Show 2016 event.

We were absolutely honored to showcase the newest Begitta collection “The Golden Empire” for Spring/Summer 2014 at Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival –Brisbane. The Golden Empire features the token whimsical and romantic designs that you have come to know and love from Begitta.
Many signature elements feature in the collection from hand draping, hand-appliqué, plenty of ruffles and a little bit of sparkle. Hundreds of hours of work went producing the collection of bespoke gowns from forty to over one-hundred hours per gown.
Inspired by a free spirited Gypsy Princess of a forgotten time. Brought forward from an immersion of the ornate details in hand woven tapestries, resplendent decor and dazzling adornment, intense jewel tones, heavy gold details and ornate crown jewels.

A magnificent collection of romance that will ever reign....
MBFF MEDIA BUZZ!
Begitta Featured at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival in Brisbane on August 27th at the exquisite Brisbane City Hall, debuting the bewitching ‘GOLDEN EMPIRE’ Collection in the Emerging Designers Show to rave reviews and much love and attention from fans and media.
But the absolute show stopper, couture designer Begitta showed pieces that were part wearable art, part masterful dressmaking and altogether spectacular. Sequins, ruffles, jewels and bright colours abound in this sweet-as-candy collection.
"Molly &Polly created plenty of wow with their swimwear featuring bright neon colours and vibrant pineapple and reef prints. While Begitta took the sold-out audience to a magical land with her gypsy-inspired couture collection."
“Brisbane has an outstanding selection of emerging designers who showcased their collections on Day 2 of the festival and the absolute standout for me was the show-stopping designs from Begitta, with her collection Golden Empire.
Finally, the most inspiring work I saw came from the very talented designer Begitta Stolk under the label 'Begitta' who wowed the audience and critics alike with her fine detail, hand-embellishments, millinery and specialised couture. After having finalised her studies in Paris on specialised Haute Couture Techniques and working with prestige car company Peugeot on made to measure pieces, this is a woman who has no boundaries.
