Late last year I had the pleasure of working with an amazing international photographer Stephan Bollinger. His work is just divine, the clarity and lighting is just phenomenal and the images produced speak volumes to his talent. Here are a few of the beautiful images from our collaboration with Tracie Weaver whose hair and makeup is always exceptional. Our gorgeous models Courtney, Jessica, Gabrielle and Caitlin; each have their own individual and absolutely stunning looks. LOVE! XxBegitta Click "READ MORE" Below to see more beautiful images...
Add Comment Working in the fashion industry is such an amazing thing; One minute your rubbing shoulders with fabulous couturiers of Paris or drinking champagne amongst the world’s most beautiful people and the next you are donning an "Oh-So-Fabulous" snorkel and mask to create an amazing Underwater Series. I am talking of course about my recent collaboration with the amazing Beth Mitchell, her work is something to rival the best our country has to offer and at such a young age she is such a wondrous talent. I feel very privileged to have worked with her on such an elaborate project. Our fabulous team for this shoot consisted of five gorgeous models Keely, Yani, Emma, Isabeau (all Viviens) and the gorgeous Isabelle Faith (Dallys) whose divine face graced our television screens in Australia’s Next Top Model. Our amazing makeup was the work of unyielding Fiona Claire and whimsical hair by amazing talent Hannah Wright and of course all Couture Pieces worn by the models are custom Begitta. The final outcome of the shoot really speaks for itself, Beth’s astounding talent and the remarkable talent of the entire team shows. So without further ado…. "Deep Couture" UNDERWATER SERIES ♥ Photography: Beth Mitchell Photography Fashion Designer: Begitta Model: Keely, Yani, Issabeau, Isabelle, Emma Makeup: Fiona Claire Makeup Hair: Hannah Wright - Professional Hairstylist After spending time in the beautiful city of Paris studying the wondrous techniques in Couture and Tailoring, Begitta then went to the next level to study Bridal Couture and Haute Couture Embroidery at the illustrious and infamous Central Saint Martins College of Arts. With such an amazing reputation for turning out some of the worlds greatest designers of yesterday and today such as Stella McCartney, John Galliano, Hussein Chalayan and the late Alexander McQueen.. Just to name a few, this amazing establishment was the perfect place to finalise her studies and journey for new techniques, knowledge and inspiration. Begitta’s work in creative couture for bridal was practiced on a handmade ½ scale mannequin. An approach that is used by designers such as Vionnet, Vivien Westwood and John Galliano. Where the garment is first constructed in half scale and trailed using the same draping as the final “full sized” gown, this creates the same effect but uses half the fabric and is a fabulous way to trial a new style or texture. So many techniques and tips learnt from some of the industries most amazing power players has been unbelievably beneficial in the training of not only techniques in design but also in pattern making, draping, hand embellishments and the ability to create a beautiful couture garment from start to finish with perfect technique. I can not explain how appreciative I am to my entire family and all my beautiful friends who have constantly supported me on my journey to better myself as a designer. But also to the amazing people I have learnt from throughout my studies abroad, from the couturiers of Madame Grès, the tailors of YSL, the milliner of Gaultier and the amazing tutors of Saint Martins College. It has been such an inspiration to learn and to hear the stories that you have shared, an astonishing adventure and a once in a lifetime opportunity to discover so many new things and so much more in inspiration, passion and addiction for what I love. Thankyou to all that have supported me throughout my journey, I couldn’t have done it without you. Begitta is BACK in Australia!!!! After an AMAZING few months in Europe, Begitta has returned home! It has been quite a huge accomplishment as a designer for Begitta to complete her studies of Haute Couture in Paris and also Bridal Couture and Embroidery at The Central Saint Martins College of Art, world renowned as one of the most prestigious schools of design. Working on the Haute Couture in Paris included creating a stunning gown using the techniques of Madame Grès, with the couturiers whom were employed by the master drapier for over 25 years. Also working with couturier Madame Brigitte Lenoir of Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Shibori dying expert and textile designer – Sharon Kilfoyle, Monsieur Jean Pierre Tritz – Jean Paul Gaultier’s Couture Milliner, Jean-Louis Pinabel – feather master who works with YSL and stocks his collections in Harrods (London).
